FANE - Rebecca Taylor McKay In Conversation With Jessica Bull

Join Rebecca Taylor McKay as she presents The Honeymoon Suite, a sun-drenched psychological thriller set against the glittering backdrop of the Amalfi Coast in the sweltering summer of 1961—longlisted for the Women's Prize Discoveries Prize and shortlisted for the Northern Writers' Sid Chaplin Award for working-class writers.

The perfect couple. Beautiful young bride Clara Carmichael and her wealthy new husband Spencer arrive on the Amalfi Coast. A glorious month of dazzling blue seas, lemon trees heavy with fruit, and their sparkling, marble-clad honeymoon suite stretches ahead of them.

The perfect honeymoon. For the newlyweds, the days slip by in a haze of boat rides, sunbathing on the private beach, and cocktails beneath a star-studded sky. It’s paradise—until a note is slipped under their door, and everything unravels.

The perfect lie? In black ink, the message is unmistakable: He's lying to you. Suddenly, Clara questions everything. Why does Spencer seem so familiar with their hotel? Why does she have the feeling she's being watched?

In conversation with author Jessica Bull, explore the golden age of psychological suspense, what it takes to write a heroine caught between glamour and danger, and how personal experience of living between spaces finds its way into fiction.

This is an online event which will be streamed live on Tuesday the 28th of July at 6.30pm. If you can’t make the livestream, ticketholders will be able to watch the event on catch-up anytime for up to two weeks after.
