What an exciting couple of months it’s been! First I learned that I’d been longlisted for the Women’s Prize Discoveries Prize, and then, a few short weeks later, I found out that I was shortlisted for The Northern Writers’ Awards Sid Chaplin Award for working class writers.

The winner and highly commended were announced a couple of days ago, and while of course, I’m disappointed not to have won, I’m genuinely delighted to have made it as far as the shortlist.

I was shortlisted with the same entry that was longlisted for Discoveries - my current WIP, so I’m feeling hugely buoyed as I continue to work on that.

More news soon, I hope!
